If it's true, then the human experience Richard Coles is having is a very rich one. Twenty-five years ago, give or take a few, Richard Coles was a pop star in Britain with bands like the Bronski Beat and later the Communards.

AIDS was ravaging his circle of friends, leading him to the collar he wears now as the vicar of St.Mary the Virgin, Finedon, in Northhamptonshire, England.  His latest book Lives of the Improbable Saints was published this fall by Darton, Longman & Todd in the UK.
