The philosopher A.C. Grayling has combed through 2,500 years of literature, history and ethics to produce what he calls a "secular bible". Grayling says it's a sobering fact that our lives will last less than one thousand months. After taking into consideration how many of those months are spent sleeping, grocery shopping and paying bills, he says you've got to live the moments you've got to the fullest.

This week on Tapestry, Mary Hynes talks with Anthony Grayling along with listeners who have collected their own inspirational quotations and words to live by. A. C. Grayling's book is called The Good Book: A Humanist Bible.
