Daniel Gilbert/ Passing Trends

The psychologist Daniel Gilbert says Sartre had it wrong — hell is not other people, heaven is other people. In fact, says Gilbert, most of the ideas we have about how to be happy are dead wrong. Take Doris Day warbling Que Sera Sera. According to Daniel Gilbert, that's just about the worst advice on how to live life that you could ever give someone. Hear more as Mary Hynes talks with the author of Stumbling on Happiness. It's distributed in Canada by Random House.

Also, a documentary called Passing Trends. Wanita Bates explores changing trends in funerals. It's become more "celebration of life" and less "praying for the soul of the dearly departed."
