Today on Tapestry, writer and broadcaster Hassan Ghedi Santur explores loneliness.  
In the world of texting, Facebook, Twitter and instant messaging, we should feel more connected to our fellow human beings than at any other time in history. But it hasn't quite turned out that way.

A lot of people are lonely.  And while science tells us that the pain of loneliness serves a purpose,  it isn't much fun.  

Also on the show, Mary talks to Stephen Prothero, contributor to CNN's Belief Blog, and author of God Is Not One: The Eight Rival Religions That Run the World--and Why Their Differences Matter, published by Harper Collins.  Stephen Prothero is also a professor of religion at Boston University.  He argues that while the idea that all religions are really about the same thing, is a comforting one, it is also wrong.  He also warns that not acknowledging differences in religions can be dangerous.
