Stealing Fire from the Gods: Mary Hynes with Phil Cousineau

Mythology is full of stories about human beings stealing fire from the gods. In ancient Greece, the way people tried to touch that divine spark was through the Olympic Games.
Flash forward a couple of centuries, and consider the modern Olympics. With all the big endorsement deals, the drug scandals (and even the French figure skating judge!) the idea of touching the gods through sports can be a bit of a stretch. But look a little closer. The Olympics of myth, of honouring the gods - and the god within - may be closer than you think.
This week, Mary talks with Phil Cousineau, author of The Olympic Odyssey, about rekindling the true spirit of the great games.
