Guest-host Robert Harris catches up with Ariane Sherine, the journalist and comedy writer behind Britain's atheist bus campaign. Her slogan, "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life," is plastered on 800 buses across England. Ariane tells Robert what was behind the creation of the accidental, but culturally explosive, atheist bus ads. Also this week: this could be the age of the Stoic. Writer and researcher Russell McNeil tells Robert Harris what President Barack Obama has in common with one of the world's best known stoic philosophers, the 2nd century Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Robert also explores why stoicism, not considered a religion, is deeply rooted in spirituality. Russell
McNeil is a writer and Research Associate at Vancouver Island University. His Meditations of Marcus Aurelius: Selections Annotated and Explained, is published by Skylight Paths |
