Figure skater Kurt Browning says that one of the most Canadian moments he ever experienced was carrying the flag for the opening ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
Having been unable to carry the flag at the 1992 Albertville Olympics due to an injury, Browning appreciated having a second opportunity to be the Olympic flag-bearer.
"I got so much support," said Browning. "I didn't get a medal that Olympics so that turned out to be my big Olympic moment. And my most Canadian moment in the world was definitely not skating, it was carrying a stick with our maple leaf at the end of it."
