When alpine ski racer Erik Guay stopped by George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight he talked about his defining moment -- beating his older brother.
Says Guay: "The only thing I wanted to do when I grew up was beat my older brother and when I turned 15 I finally ended up beating him. To me that was a big moment because of course he was my hero and I sort of asked myself a question 'Where do I go from here? What do I do next?'
"Because I had an older brother and because he was bigger and fitter and stronger it made me be a better athlete."
After his brother came... the world.
"For me that was sort of that defining moment where I finally beat my brother and all of a sudden I set my sights a little higher -- nationally, internationally and then the Olympics."
