Director Paul Haggis returned to the red chair to talk about his latest film, Third Person, as well as his early work in television (and his new glasses).
George asked him what it's like writing stories that are inspired by his own life — then seeing actors playing those roles.
"When you're writing something so personal — this took me two-and-a-half years to write — you have to relive moments that were wonderful or sad, or terrible, and that tears you apart. You have keep going over that scene, over that scene, over that scene. This was two-and-a-half years of five-day weeks, six-day weeks, six and eight hours a day writing, and just getting it wrong and throwing it out.
"It was just torture."
