Olympic gold medal–winning sprinter Donovan Bailey was in the red chair to talk about his latest project — defending Esi Edugyan's Half Blood Blues in Canada Reads 2014.
Bailey also took some time to talk about the differences between the Summer and Winter Olympics. There's a perception in Canada that the Summer Games are less important, which Bailey has definitely noticed.
"We don't [think they're as important] and I think we have to change that philosophy," said Bailey. "We want to own the podium. And when I ran I was the 'arrogant sprinter guy,' but now we own the podium. And that really was what my intention was then, and we're doing it now in the Winter Games and I think that we need to prepare ourselves and get ready for 2016."
