Former Montreal Canadiens great Chris Nilan was in the red chair to talk about his new book Fighting Back — and the rocky road he's travelled after hockey.
Nilan, who battled alcohol and painkiller addiction after he retired, said he had to become a different, more vulnerable person to get sober.
"For me to get sober and turn my life around I had to get honest with myself and in turn I had to become open and willing to take those things head-on that happened in my life and address them so I could put that part of my life behind me.
"Was it difficult? Yes."
