Captain Simon Mailloux was serving in Afghanistan in 2007 when he lost the lower part of his left leg in an IED explosion that killed three others. In 2009, following a difficult recovery, he became the first known Canadian soldier to return to service after an amputation. Captain Mailloux was in the red chair to share his story of courage for our special Remembrance Day episode.
