As old school as they are, who doesn't love a photo booth - right?
You get in there with your significant other, or your kids, or a bunch of friends and it's a licence to take as many silly pics as you can afford.
But what if there was a photo booth that didn't just give you those tiny prints. What if it gave you full-on 3D figurines.
Well now, there is one - although it's not exactly a booth. And you can't just put a dollar in and get a roll of prints. But it's still relatively simple.
It's called The Omote 3D photo booth.
You have to book an appointment to drop by the studio, then stand still for about 15 minutes as someone scans you with a stereoscopic camera.

The camera captures light and colours, as well as your size and height, the folds in your clothes, and your hairstyle.
From there, everything is refined by a computer. Then, a 3-D printer recreates you in miniature form - although that takes a while.
The folks who operate the booth say it can take up to a month. Presumably, you don't have to stand still all that time.
But you can get single, double or group portraits in a variety of sizes, the largest being up to 8 inches.
And if you're really into it, you can order reprints of yourself and others.
But be warned the scanner and printer can only do so much, so wacky, crazy, adventurous poses won't really fly.
By the way, the figurines cost anywhere from $250 to $500 depending on the size you choose.
But hey, isn't that a small price to pay to have your own action figure? Or how 'bout making your own wedding toppers?
The Omote 3D booth opens in Tokyo later this month on November 24 and runs until January 14.
If you're in the area, you can make a reservation here.
