Watch This Guy Ascend To His Tree House Using A Bike-Powered Elevator

As if building an adult tree house wasn't cool enough, Ethan Schlussler of Sandpoint, Idaho, devised this brilliant hack to make his way up there. "I got tired of climbing a ladder six and a half million times a day," said Schlussler in his video description, "so I made a bicycle powered elevator to solve this problem."

"When it came time to modify the bicycle, I just started cutting and welding pieces of scrap metal to the bicycle frame for attachment points and pulleys and such," Schlussler told ABC News. He also used an old water heater tank as a counterweight to help balance the load.

The whole process took Schlussler about a week. He still has some work to do before the treehouse is complete — he's building walls complete with insulation — but once it's done, he's planning to start spending the night there.
