Talk about sticking to your craft.
It's hard to believe, but everything in that photograph up there was constructed out of masking tape.
Artist Danny Scheible creates what he calls "tapigami": sculptures and artworks built from masking tape and a little bit of paint.
On the Tapigami website, Danny says he happened upon the idea of art made from tape while studying fine art and performance art at the University of California Santa Cruz.
He saw tape art "as a way to define his aesthetic and bring together his passion for making art accessible, socially interactive, and reasonable to produce for a college student ballin' on a budget!"
As well as massive installations (the one at the top of this post apparently features 100,000 individual sculptures), Danny also produces smaller individual pieces like single flowers and light fixtures.
Danny's also turned Tapigami into a business (along with Tre Borden, his business partner and friend since the second grade). They make everything from jewelry to lighting fixtures to flowers, all using masking tape.
