As World Food Week winds to a close, we thought we'd angle the spotlight again on our friends at FreeRice.com. If you haven't already played, FreeRice is a great online game that tests your brain and rewards you with good karma (if you believe in something like that); for every question you answer correctly, 10 grains of rice are donated to the people around the world who need it most.
November, which is sneaking up on us quickly, is a special month for FreeRice. From November 1 to November 30, FreeRice is asking schools to sign up as teams to compete against one another to see which school can best work (and click) together to donate the most rice overall. It's going to be cool; some learning, some donating - plus the added incentive of winning international bragging rights. Does it get any better?
To learn a little more about the children who benefit from FreeRice, take a moment to visit the World Food Programme's new Dream Page, and see for yourself the difference you can make by playing FreeRice.
(Oh, and be sure to tune in on Wednesday, October 26th for George's interview with the Executive Director of the World Food Programme, Josette Sheeran!)
