THE LIST: After The Holocaust

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, also known as Yom HaShoah. It marks Israel's national day of commemoration for the 6 million Jewish people killed in the Holocaust carried out by Nazi Germany in the Second World War. While the United Nations has declared January 27 to be International Holocaust Memorial Day, today's commemoration was also observed by people around the world.

In January, we asked performer Alex Nussbaum to share his thoughts on the cultural legacy of the Holocaust, and he shared with us this look at some of the more unexpected treatments the event has received in popular culture:
