Willie Nelson Covers Coldplay in Support of Sustainable Farming ... and Chipotle

Country music legend Willie Nelson has been through a lot in his life: in 1981, his lung collapsed in a swimming pool. In 1990, the IRS seized most of his assets due to the $24 million he owed in back taxes. He's also been arrested for marijuana possession numerous times - on the most recent occasion, he almost got to sing his way out of jail.

Along with all those crazy stories, Willie's always been a strong advocate for social causes. A new video about the dangers of factory farming is circulating on the web, featuring Willie's cover of Coldplay's "The Scientist":

One detail: the video is sponsored by Chipotle Mexican Grill, a U.S. restaurant chain. Still, the message is important, the cover version is great, and the animation is top-notch. Besides, as comedian Bill Hicks observed back in 1993, you can't be mad at Willie for trying to make a little money from commercials. It's not easy to pay off all those back taxes, which by the way, Willie did.
