By now, you've probably heard about a new book called 'Go the F**k to Sleep,' by Adam Mansbach. If you haven't, it's basically a children's book for adults about the frustration of trying to get your little one to sleep. It's full of expletives, but it's written like a child's bedtime story, complete with rhyming verses and illustrations. Even before its release, it shot to the top spot of Amazon's bestseller list and now, it's just debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list.
Plus, the movie rights are sold. Not bad, considering Mansbach never planned to write it. One night, after trying to get his daughter to settle, he posted on Facebook... 'Be on the lookout for my forthcoming childrens book, Go the F**k to Sleep.' That got a big response from other parents who urged him to write it.
Well now, Samuel L. Jackson has narrated an audio version of 'Go the F**k to Sleep.' If it doesn't lull your children to dreamland, at least it will make you laugh while they're still running around at 1 am on a school night.
And apparently, this is acclaimed director Werner Herzog narrating the book too:
