Need CPR? There's An App For That.

As remarkable as firefighters and paramedics are, the reality is, it can take several minutes or more to respond to a call. Every minute in an emergency is crucial and can mean the difference between someone surviving or dying.

Well, here's an idea that could help save the life of someone who's having a heart attack or is in need of CPR.

Fire officials in San Ramon Valley, California have launched a feature on their free iPhone app called Fire Department.

Here's how it works...

Imagine you're in a store and you're trained in CPR. If you opt into the feature and someone nearby is in need of CPR, you'd get an alert. If they're nearby, you could step in to help before the professionals arrive.

Sounds like the kind of idea that could interest emergency officials across North America...
