Watching Porn in Parliament

Believe it or not, an Indonesian MP was caught watching porn on his tablet computer... in Parliament!

That's not a typo.

The MP named Arifinto was watching a skin flick mid-session! Sure, parliamentary speeches can be dull. But come on, Buddy.

Of course, this incident has prompted him to resign from his position. But the story doesn't end there.

Indonesia is notoriously strict against pornography. And to make it worse, Arifinto was one of the people behind the law making pornography illegal. Now he might be charged under the very law he helped pass.

Oh the irony!

Arifinto's political party, the PKS, is known for being closely associated with Islamic teachings. But amazingly, they have come to his defense. Surahman, the head of the party's sharia board has come out to say, "We're only human, not angels. What can happen to mere mortals can also happen to us."

Fair point. But how many mortals watch porn in Parliament again? Oh, yeah. Only Arifinto.
