The Year 2000 (As Predicted in 1910)

If you love totally inaccurate predictions of the future, then you have to see this. It's a series of illustrations from 1910 by the French artist Villemard depicting what life might be like in the year 2000.

And believe it or not, his predictions were horribly, horribly wrong. The best one is of the classroom, where they are manually crushing books to electronically convert the information straight into the student's minds.

The perfect mix of high-tech and low tech. Too bad that technology never made it by the year 2000. But, if we're lucky, we can still hope to have it by the year 3000. Keep your fingers crossed.
