Today at 8:30 pm, people around the world will be turning off their light switches for 60 minutes in honour of Earth Hour. During this time, we're supposed to reflect on making a commitment to eco-friendly actions that will last a lifetime.
To get you thinking about the ways in which you can make green changes in your life, check out these two interviews with environment champions Ed Begley Jr. and Bruce Cockburn.
Ed Begley Jr. talks about four decades of living green, biking to the Oscars, and simple things we can do...
Bruce Cockburn talks about David Suzuki, Kermit the Frog, and the best way to spend an hour in the dark...
By the way, here's a great way to learn more about the environment and help save the planet. A Canadian organization called Planet in Focus and the Alliance of Natural History Museums have created a national tour of eight award-winning documentaries. The films cover everything from access to clean drinking water and the mass disappearance of bees, to the effects of global warming in the Himalayas. The films are screening at six museums across the country during Earth Month. For a list and summary of the films and the museum tour schedule, click here.
What changes will you be making starting today?
