Talk about an up and down week. Toronto independent bookstore 'Flying Dragon' was named Specialty Bookstore of the Year on Saturday. The following Thursday the store announced it's closing at the end of June...
Ironically the announcement came on the same day Amazon said it's now selling more Kindle books that hard and soft cover combined.
Fortunately there are some great independent book stores across Canada that deserve our support. 'Macleod's' in Vancouver, Winnipeg's 'Mondragon', 'Pages' in Calgary , Toronto's 'Type Books', Biosfaire Librairie in Montreal, 'JW Doull' in Halifax or Charlottetown's 'The Bookman'...
Which ones have we missed? Let's hear from you, Canada. Tell us about your favourite neighbourhood bookstore.
