David Frum on Right-Wing Alienation and Obama's Cool, Cerebral Personality

January 30, 2012

David Frum says the voice of the right wing in the United States is the voice of a group of people that sees the future as being ominous and closed in. There isn't a lot of optimism. He says one of the reasons there is so much opposition to President Obama among that group is that there's a feeling the president doesn't empathize with their pain.

In this clip, David talks about...

President Obama's cerebral personality
"Obama is not an I-feel-your pain kind of person...Obama is a thinking man. He's a cerebral person. He understands your pain. He can graph your pain and he can chart your pain. He can tell you all the data that together comprises your pain. He doesn't feel your pain because he is such a cerebral personality."
