Weekend Getaway: Take A Tour Of The Solar System Without Leaving Your House

Various companies are working toward making commercial space flight a reality, but we're still a long way from being able to hop on a ship and cruise through the solar system, stopping off at planets along the way.

Luckily there's this video, "I Need Some Space", from Queensland, Australia's Blue Dog Films. It takes viewers on a quick tour of the other planets and moons in our solar system, also looking in on some of the spacecraft that are already floating around out there.

The filmmaker used various computer programs and some NASA models to put the piece together, as well as music from his sister's classical group, the Zephyr Quartet

To get some more perspective on spending time in space, we've got a couple of great guests coming up on the show this week. We're reairing George's interview with astronaut Chris Hadfield on Thursday, November 14 and his chat with Alfonso Cuaron, director of Gravity, on Friday, November 15.

Tune in to CBC Television at 7 p.m. Atlantic and 11:30 p.m. in the rest of Canada to catch the interviews.
