VIDEO OF THE DAY: The Life of an Ice-Flooding Tractor

For the last 40 years, the ice at Rossland Arena in British Columbia has been flooded and resurfaced seven times a day by the same machine - a 1972 Ford 3000 tractor. After all those years, the community was planning on retiring the Ford in favour of a newer, faster Zamboni.

This changing of the guard might have gone by without a mention, but filmmaker and Rossland resident Scott Carlson had been fascinated by the tractor since he was a child. He felt he owed it to his community to document this piece of town history, so he created this amazing autobiographical short detailing the life of a hard-working vehicle.

It's called 'The Flood', and after seeing it, the City of Rossland decided to keep the tractor employed at the arena. A great ending to a great tale. Watch it below:
