How do over-the-counter painkillers actually work? A lot of us take them, but most of us probably don't know how they do what they do. In this TEDEd video, science journalist and MIT graduate George Zaidan explains the science behind how pain itself affects us, the ways aspirin and ibuprofen help to mask it (they work differently, as it turns out), and what researchers are learning about how humans respond to pain.
