These Incredibly Lifelike Sculptures Are Made Of Wood

Italian artist Bruno Walpoth has mastered the art of turning wood into realistic, lifelike representations of human beings.

He's been working with wood for decades now, getting his start in the early '70s, and his technique has remained the same since then.

He uses handheld carving tools, which leave noticeable marks on his life-size sculptures to remind the viewer that they were made, not born.

Walpoth's talent for working with wood runs in the family - both his grandfathers and an uncle were distinguished woodcarvers, My Modern Met reports.
