What do you think everyday sounds might look like, if you could see, and not just hear, them?? Polish filmmakers Katarzyna Kijek and Przemysław Adamski pondered the question and conjured up their animated short, "Noise." It's a six-minute stop-motion visualization of soundwaves coursing through an apartment building. As the protagonist confronts a series of noises — all everyday, ordinary things like a trumpet player, a couple fighting, a floorboards creaking, a gas stove igniting — the sounds themselves come to life through clever animation. The film has been making the rounds to film festivals over the last couple of years, cleaning up awards along the way, but the entire short was just released online for the first time late last night.
