PICTURES OF THE DAY: School’s Out Forever?
May 31, 2012
submit to reddit

Some graduating students at the Dalian University of Technology in northern China celebrated the way a lot of university grads do: taking group pics, throwing their caps in the air, and enjoying the excitement of leaving their school behind. But these pictures are a little different, since it looks like the school building behind them is burning down.

That was not the case - in fact, the building wasn't even on fire. It was a warehouse located behind the building that was alight and billowing black smoke. Luckily no one was hurt in the blaze, and the fire was soon put out, but school officials were not impressed with the decision to share these pics online. One of them said "our students shouldn't be celebrating destruction".
