Each and every Sunday night, we celebrate the noisemakers and groundbreakers that have come before us. Tonight we tip our hats to Michel Pagliaro - the first Canadian artist to have Gold singles on both the Anglo and Franco pop charts.

His monumental impact on French and English Canada is not talked about enough.

In 1975, Pagliaro switched labels, from RCA to Columbia, and then he dropped two albums simultaneously - the French album, 'Pagliaro I', and 'Pagliario' in English, which featured 'What the Hell I Got'.

His success led to a co-headlining set at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) with none other than Peter Frampton. There was a lot of hair, needless to say.

Pagliaro also received a Juno nomination for Best Pop Vocalist in 1975. But he isn't all yesteryear: his reckless touring continues this summer. You can check the dates on his website.
