Check Out These Classic Movie Posters Turned Into Cool Animated GIFs

For almost as long as there have been movies, there have been movie posters. The most successful ones worked mainly because they achieved the improbable: they captured the spirit of the moving image on a static, two-dimensional surface. In some cases, movie posters might even be considered works of art in and of themselves. And since the form has continued until this day, clearly something's working. So what's the only thing that could make a great movie poster even better? How about if the images used in the posters actually moved? That's what one anonymous Imgur user has accomplished with a series of famous posters turned into GIFs. The posters are animated just enough to make them feel even more dynamic — without getting in the way of their original artistry. Check out some of the best ones in the gallery above.
