Two wannabe pirates tried and failed to plunder a docked sailboat in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Scott Stanton and Steven Jette were flying the prototypical pirate flag from their motorboat - complete with skull and crossbones - when they boarded the sailboat, whose owner spotted them and chased them away.
The U.S. Coast Guard caught up with Stanton and Jette's craft almost immediately, identifying it by the distinctive pirate flag, and arrested the two men. Although they had told the sailboat's owner they were armed, the only contraband found onboard were six lobsters, which the men didn't have licenses to catch.
The would-be swashbucklers have been charged with breaking and entering, threatening to commit a crime and witness intimidation.
