Over the past several years, we've heard a lot of political rhetoric in America about Main Street vs. Wall Street - much of it brought on by the U.S. financial collapse.

Main St., of course, is supposed to represent "ordinary Americans" who go to work every day to pay the bills and support their families.

Well, Italian-born photographer Piero Ribelli has put together a fascinating look at "ordinary Americans."

He spent six years travelling across the U.S. to interview and photograph 50 people, in 50 towns, in 50 states who all share the same address: 50 Main Street.

The result is a unique and diverse slice of America. You can check out more of his photos at Daily Mail.

Ribelli also has put together a book called '50 Main Street: The Faces of America." He says it's "a reminder of our roots, values and history, based on immigration, opportunities and hard work."
