If you're old enough to remember 'Schoolhouse Rock', we warn you - this is going to make you feel old.

'Schoolhouse Rock' has just celebrated its 40th birthday. Yep, it premiered on ABC television in 1973.

If you don't know, 'Schoolhouse Rock' aired on the weekend, usually between Saturday morning cartoons.

The series was made up of a bunch of three-minute animated films that included short, original, catchy songs that rhymed.

The idea was to teach kids about all sorts of stuff - math, grammar, American history, government, health and nutrition, and science.

The first three-minute animated video was "My Hero, Zero." Check it out.

A couple of the most popular videos were 'Conjunction Junction' and 'I'm Just A Bill'. The amazing thing is, they still hold up. Check 'em out below.

The series originally ran from 1973 to 1985, and was later revived with both old and new episodes airing from 1993 to 1999.

Additional episodes were produced as recently as 2009, which were released direct to video.

NPR spoke with Bob Dorough, who composed, conducted and sang a lot of the music on 'Schoolhouse Rock'. You can listen to that here.

The Walt Disney company acquired 'Schoolhouse Rock' in 1996. To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Disney released a video featuring the Top 25 songs of the series.

Here's the complete list, in case you want to go down nostalgia lane or perhaps show 'em to your own kids.

We're guessing a lot of you could even sing a few of these from memory.
