The Periodic Table of the Muppets by Mike BaBoon (click for larger version)

The Muppets are no stranger to science - after all, Beaker and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew have carried out a large number of explosive experiments over the years - but this is the first time they've been classified in such a scientific manner.

This chart, 'The Periodic Table of the Muppets', is the brainchild of designer Mike BaBoon, and it's a great piece of work.

He not only gives each Muppet an elemental two-letter name, he also includes some fascinating information: the primary Muppeteer for each character, and the year and production in which the character made its debut.

Click the image at the top of the page to take a closer look at his colour-coded work of Muppet science.

You can see more of Mike's work on his website, BaBoonDesign.

Last season, Kermit the Frog stopped by our program, and George asked him about Jim Henson, the puppeteer who started it all. Check that clip out below:

And Jason Segel, friend to Muppets everywhere and the writer and co-star of their latest movie, 'The Muppets', was also in the red chair last season.

Here he is talking to George about working with Kermit and the gang.
