Heavy Metal Charting Hot

Dropping science is usually confined to the world of rap, but the tables are about to be turned. A new poster from purveyors of clever infographics Pop Chart Lab looks like a cross between the periodic tables you tried to memorize in high school and a hand throwing the devil horns. In place of the usual elements, it contains the names of 303 metal bands, from AC/DC to Xysma.

Check it out here:

The so-called new Periodic Table of Heavy Metals is the perfect addition to your garage jam space, basement dungeon, or laboratory of doom. The effort and extreme nerdiness that went into the project are obvious, but they might have been reaching a little far afield to fill out the chart - Bootsauce? Temple of the Dog?

Still, it's worth a look just for the discovery that the elemental symbol for Motley Crüe is Mü. That's just plain old hard science.
