ANTI- Records and 170 Million Americans for Public Broadcasting are giving away a free 16-track compilation of music from a bunch of awesome bands. Visit their site here to grab it for free. As Jeff Nelson, co-director of the organization, says, "the release is designed to raise awareness about the importance of public broadcasting to music in America as we make our case to Congress to maintain federal funding for local stations."

Wilco (whose Jeff Tweedy visited the show this season) has the lead-off track, with lots of other great artists on comp, including Neko Case, The Swell Season, Tom Waits and Tinariwen.

The website is asking for a zip code in order to download the album, but Canadians who support the cause can stream the record on the site.
