Hip Hop Icons Eazy-E And ODB Are Coming Back… In Hologram Form

Don't call it a comeback: AllHipHop has learned that the late rappers Ol' Dirty Bastard and Eazy-E will both be "appearing" at this year's Rock The Bells music festival... in hologram form.

Apparently, a virtual version of ODB will take the stage alongside the Wu-Tang Clan, the group in which he was a founding member.

A holographic Eazy-E, formerly of the legendary hip hop group N.W.A., will perform with Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony - who Eazy signed to Ruthless Records in 1993.

Organizers of the festival say the decision to create holographic versions of the two performers was based on Tupac Shakur's virtual performance at the Coachella Festival last year.

Check out video of that performance below - and be reminded of how weird it is to see a deceased performer brought back to life with technology:

In case you're wondering, both Eazy's wife Tomica Wright and Ol Dirty's mom Cherry Jones were consulted about the idea of holographic performances, and both say they're on board.

If you want to see the virtual performers up close in the non-flesh, here are the dates of Rock The Bells 2013:

September 7-8: San Bernardino, California - San Manuel Amphitheatre
September 14-15: Mountain View, California - Shoreline Amphitheatre
September 28-29: Washington, DC - Festival Grounds at RFK
October 4-5: Rutherford, New Jersey - Meadowlands Racetrack
