Clever Facebook Prank: Find Someone With The Same Name As You. Recreate Their Profile Picture. Freak

According to their site, Facebook has one billion monthly active users as of October 2012.

That's a lot of people. And chances are, there are others out there with the same name as you - with a few exceptions (not too many George Stroumboulopouloses running around out there).

Well, Alberta-based musician and Reddit user Ryan Roy found a bunch of people on Facebook who shared his name, and decided to play a weird prank on them.

It went like this: he would find another Ryan Roy, look at their profile picture, and then recreate it with himself in it.

So, for a picture of another Ryan pretending to grab a girl's butt, Reddit Ryan staged this:

Then, he made the new image his own profile picture and sent the other Ryan a friend request.

It's hard to imagine how strange it would be to get a friend request from someone with the same name as you, only to discover their profile pic is the spitting image of your own.

Is there a doppelganger version of you out there, living the same life in another city?

Or is it just a weirdo on the internet?

It seems as if most people on the receiving end of his prank went right to the latter explanation.

"None of them really got it, they just got really creeped out and changed their profile pic immediately," he said.

Not sure we blame them. But for outside observers, it's a pretty clever stunt.

Here are a few more examples (Roy's photos are on the right side). Check them all out on Roy's Imgur page.
