AWESOME THING OF THE DAY: A Map Of The Movies

For film buffs, navigating the history of cinema can get complicated (there are just so many movies). Good thing there's a map: this poster, created by UK-based Dorothy Collective and loosely based on a vintage Los Angeles street map, features titles and location names from over 900 movies, cleverly applied to an imaginary cityscape.

So if you've ever wanted to follow the Honky Tonk Freeway to Diagon Alley, which runs along the side of Cloverfield, site of the Deathly Hallows, this is the map for you. There's enough detail that you could spend hours poring over it, and testing yourself on how many of the movies you've seen. And half the fun is imagining what it would be like to actually navigate the landscape it's describing. Advice: avoid The Killing Fields, and don't get on The Road that takes you there.
