For a lot of fans, playoff season is the perfect time to get some wear out of that lucky jersey, and maybe bring some good fortune to their team.
But if your team didn't make the playoffs - or you're (gasp!) not that into hockey - that's no reason not to rock a jersey.
And Canadian geek, artist and hockey fan Dave Delisle has the perfect thing.
He's one of the guys behind Geeky Jerseys, a company that creates customized hockey jerseys that feature pop culture imagery where the team logo normally goes.
So, if you're a huge Doctor Who fan, for instance, you might want to rock this TARDIS-inspired jersey:
Or if 'Game of Thrones' is your thing, you can represent for House Stark with this jersey for the (threatening-looking) Direwolves:
Geeky Jerseys got started when Dave, who was already running the blog Dave's Geeky Hockey, got in touch with Sean, the founder and president of Rink Gear, a custom jersey company.
They started talking about non-hockey designs, and Sean (he prefers to use only his first name), decided it was a smart move to branch out.
"We noticed it wasn't only Kevin Smith that appreciated a rad-looking hockey jersey," he told Wired's Ruth Suehle. "So we split the company into two focuses: traditional hockey team jerseys and totally unique geeky jerseys."

As the Geeky Jerseys website puts it, "A jock and a geek came together over an argument about the best looking jerseys, and how they could be improved."
The company creates its jerseys from scratch, which allows them to make each geeky creation with lots of little details that only a true fan would appreciate.

There are two types of jersey available: one is the Geeky Custom, which people can order and personalize with their choice of size, name and number. Then, there are Geeky Classics, which are extras from previous runs.
It takes about 4-6 weeks for a custom jersey to be made and shipped - not so long for a true fan to wait.
