Welcome, Scotland! On February 4, 2014, the Scottish Parliament officially passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage, joining a growing roster of countries to recognize marriage equality (there are 18 now). For a complete* list of countries that have taken that step so far, see the gallery above.
* Note that the gallery only includes countries where same-sex marriage is legal country-wide, ruling out the United States and Mexico, where it's only allowed in certain jurisdictions. We'll update the post once new countries come on board.
