Here's a filmmaking challenge: create a feature-length movie that holds the audience's attention and keeps things entertaining — with only two actors on-screen.
Alfonso Cuarón took on that challenge with his latest film, Gravity. Except for voice actors, the only two performers in the film are Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, but the critics seem to agree that no more actors were needed to make the movie work well.
Cuarón's not the first director to build an entire film around two (or fewer) actors. Hit the gallery to see some other examples of movies that make the most of a very small cast.
And watch the show tonight, Friday October 4, at 7pm on CBC Television to hear from Alfonso Cuarón in the red chair.
