The 2014 Golden Globe Nominations Are Out, And Many Friends Of The Show Were Honoured

This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the list of nominees for this year's Golden Globe Awards, and several guests and friends of the show made the cut.

Alexander Payne's latest film Nebraska picked up five nominations: Best Picture Comedy or Musical, Best Director, Best Actor Comedy or Musical for Bruce Dern, Best Supporting Actress for June Squibb, and Best Screenplay for Bob Nelson. Here's Alexander's recent red chair appearance:

Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón got a Best Director nod for his space thriller, which also got three other nominations: Best Motion Picture, Drama; Best Actress, Drama, for Sandra Bullock; and Best Original Score for Steven Price. Here's George's interview with Alfonso:

Idris Elba picked up a pair of nominations for two very different roles: Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and Best Actor in a Mini-Series or TV Movie for his work on Luther. He talked with George during the Toronto International Film Festival this year:

Taylor Schilling, who stars in Orange Is the New Black, was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama. Here she is in the red chair this year:

And the Spanish-German actor Daniel Brühl was nominated this year for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in Rush. Here's his interview:

Finally, a number of guests from previous seasons got Golden Globe nods this year. The Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy category featured Michael J. Fox for The Michael J. Fox Show and Jim Parsons for The Big Bang TheoryMatthew McConaughey was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for Dallas Buyers Club. Joining Daniel Brühl in the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture category are Michael Fassbender, for 12 Years a Slave, and Bradley Cooper, for American Hustle. And Bryan Cranston, who recently completed the final season of Breaking Bad, got a Best Actor in a TV Series, Drama nod for his portrayal of Walter White.
