Paul The Octopus, Princess The Camel And 10 Other Animal Sports Prognosticators

Paul the Octopus

With the Winter Olympic Games kicking off in Sochi in nine days, sports fans and pundits are weighing in with their predictions for who'll take the gold, silver and bronze in all the big contests. But never mind the commentators — who's asking the animals? It's something of a tradition to get furry (and sometimes slimy) creatures to place their bets on athletic events of great importance. In the gallery above, we've rounded up some of the most prominent pet prognosticators, like Maggie the Monkey, famous for her Stanley Cup calls, and Princess The Camel, who sadly passed away earlier this month.

And tonight on The Panel, George talks Olympic predictions with Big Jay Oakerson, Arthur Simeon and Jennifer Hedger. Tune in to CBC on January 28 at 7:00 p.m. to catch the Panel.
