Seventy years ago, as 1942 took over from 1941, Woody Guthrie decided to write down a set of New Year's resolutions for his "own self."

Entitled "NEW YEARS RULIN'S", the list of 33 items shows the singer, traveller, activist and future icon to be as dedicated as ever to the fundamental values encapsulated in his songs: work hard, stay honest, love those around you and, of course, beat fascism.

The list comes courtesy of The Woody Guthrie Foundation, via Lists of Note. See links at the bottom of the page.
