VIDEO OF THE DAY: History Of Whistling

As this video demonstrates, whistling has been a part of popular music for quite a while - in three and a half minutes, the video covers 98 years and 26 songs. Featuring the whistling skills of Eric Rivera, with piano work by Evan Shinners and Michael Thurber on the strings, the piece is the brainchild of Joe Sabia, who calls himself "the video guy" for cdza, a group that "creates musical video experiments."

This is not their first foray into multi-song compilations. In fact, they're planning to drop one of these experiments every other Tuesday. Check out their compilation of classic words-free singalongs, 'History of Lyrics That Aren't Lyrics,' right here, and watch the whistling commence below:
