D.A. Pennebaker On The Rolling Stones

A classic Answerpology question yields a surprising fact: legendary documentary filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker reveals to George that he lived with the Rolling Stones for a week, and explains why he walked away from making a film with them...

Interview Highlight: His Hunch about the Rolling Stones (and the Infamous 1969 Altamont Concert) - 'We were supposed to do a film with them, but I kind of didn't want to do a film with them. They were too mean-spirited... I felt something bad was gonna happen at Altamont, so we walked on it. For a film to rely on somebody getting offed to be popular seemed, I dunno... there's too much Quaker in me to go with it'.
